Infrared Phymat Restorative Rest

6 Therapeutic Techniques
Infrared Heat, Red Light Therapy, PEMF Therapy, Negative Ion Therapy, Amethyst Healing, Restorative Aerial & Floor Restorative Yoga

PHYMAT is just like using a yoga mat except BETTER! These mats are highly effective electric heating mats, made by using healing gemstones and combining FIR (Far Infrared Ray), negative ions, hot stone therapy, PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field), and RLT (Red Light Therapy).

In this RESTORATIVE REST class, by holding various poses that are close to the ground, we can use these mats to assist our process of RELEASE & RELIEF.  Note: This is NOT a fast flowing yoga class.

There are times during a restorative or yin style yoga class where we just wish we could “sink deeper” into the mat but we are perhaps restricted by obstacles such as cold temps, tight muscles that won’t seem to budge, or a frantic mind.

With PHYMAT, we receive direct assistance–as if we are receiving our own hot oil/stone massage, crystal healing session, and red light therapy in one setting–all while being guided into deeper meditative states by your instructor! I personally used PHYMAT treatment paired with Reiki when I was first diagnosed with Endometriosis & Hypertonic Pelvic Floor Syndrome. It was HIGHLY effective and I have been screaaaaming to get one at an affordable price! Guess what? I invested in FOUR instead to share with you all!

Here is a list of the therapeutic techniques that will be assisting us as we engage in the poses.

*Infrared Saunas are not recommended for those who are pregnant or have a pacemaker. While this is a gentle version of a sauna treatment, it is advised that you ask your doctor prior and use your best judgement.

PEMF Therapy Benefits:

The Earth’s natural PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) is an essential element just like food, water, sunlight, and oxygen, and is considered the fifth element of health. These frequencies are needed for the body’s circadian rhythms, energy creation, and even to keep a pain-free body. This PEMF operates at 7.8 Hz frequency, which you can operate independently, and helps restore you from man-made EMF’s we encounter daily.

If you’re suffering from muscle and joint stiffness and pain, Pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy may help keep this pain under control, as well as other benefits:

  • Inflammation reduction

  • Blood circulation improvement

  • Muscle recovery

  • Better sleep

  • Stress release

  • Bone repair

Far Infrared Heat Therapy

Infrared light (or infrared energy) is one of the invisible parts of the spectrum. Far Infrared rays are applied in healthcare technology.

  • Improve blood circulation in the skin and internal organs, and supports cardiovascular health.

  • Relieve pain and joint stiffness.

  • Reduce stress and fatigue, and completely invigorate the body.

  • Far infrared treatment can reduce inflammation.

  • FIR can help with post-exercise soreness, and shorten your recovery period so you can get back to exercising.

Reduce some negative behaviors such as anxiety and depression, improving your mood.

Red Light Therapy

Red light therapy (RLT) is a treatment that may help skin, muscle tissue, and other parts of your body heal.

  • Red light therapy, acts on pain and inflammation at the cellular level.

  • Enhance the body’s fitness capabilities and promote speedier muscle recovery.

  • Incredible benefits for skin and beauty. Not only used to treat skin conditions like wrinkles, sun damage, scars, etc., but also to increase hair count, in both men and women.

  • Benefits for brain health and cognitive functioning, including improvements in attention and memory in healthy adults.

Hot Stone Therapy

"Amethyst crystals absorb heat energy in the wide wavelength range and then isolate, amplify and emit infrared rays in the most absorbable wavelength range 4-16 m to penetrate up to 8 inches deep. It also helps produce the healthiest negative ions to protect you from harmful electromagnetic fields." Phymat Website

Traditional massage therapy that helps you relax and ease tense muscles and damaged soft tissues throughout your body.

  • Increase blood flow to the affected area, and relieve muscle tension and pain.

  • Receiving a hot stone massage can effectively reduce stress and anxiety.

  • Regular hot stone therapy could loosen tight joints and the muscles around joints so that your flexibility improves over time.

  • It is helpful in promoting relaxation and sleep for people with insomnia.

  • Might enhance the effectiveness of the massage to boost your immunity.

Negative Ion Therapy

Negative ions are molecules floating in the air or atmosphere that have been charged with electricity.

  • Improve your mood, and tone, reducing symptoms of depression.

  • Having an activating influence on some body systems and cognitive performance.

  • Negative ions also have the particularity of ridding the atmosphere of bacteria.

  • Improve your breathing and have a beneficial influence on respiratory diseases.

  • Improve the quality of our sleep, the concentration, and the oxygenation of our tissues.

Low Aerial Hammock Therapy

During the first half of class, we will be using a LOW aerial hammock sling for support. The hammock is similar to when we traditionally use “props” such as bolsters or blocks in restorative yoga. The low aerial hammock is another prop that we can use which provides:

  • Deeper release of  tissue blocks in the muscles including trigger points and myofascial release–”MELT” method

  • Easy on the joints and supportive for all body types

  • Provides better blood circulation and an elevation in mood

The second half of class, the hammocks are tied up by your instructor and the rest of the poses are done on the ground only to reap the full benefits of the infrared heat therapy and more.
